ROLLER SPATTTERING:
DESCRIPITION
Tendency of a roller to throw off small droplets of paint during Application.
POSSIBLE CAUSE
- Applying the coating too fast.
- Using the wrong nap-size cover for the product.
- Overloading the cover for the product.
- Overworking the paint once it is applied to a substrate.
- Thinning of product.
SOLUTION
- Follow label and page directions for the appropriate roller type and size for the product.
- Using quality roller covers, which have proper resiliency, reduces spattering.
- Quality paints are formulated to minimize spattering.
- Overloading
the roller cover with paint will result in excess spatter, as will
overworking the paint once it is applied to a substrate.
